Hello and a very warm welcome to Hazel Class!
My name is Miss Tams, and I am delighted to be your child’s class teacher. I am also very lucky to be supported by Mrs Horn and Mrs Graham, who are an important part of our Hazel Class team and help the children to learn, grow and feel confident in school.
Hazel Class is a place where learning is exciting, engaging and enjoyable. Throughout their time in Hazel Class, children will take part in a range of inspiring topics and experiences. We will explore Best of British, step back in time to discover The Great Fire of London, journey to the fascinating continent of Africa, enter the magical world of Traditional Tales, explore the wonderful world of Food, and discover what life was like during Medieval Times.
Reading is a very important part of life in Hazel Class. We encourage children to develop a genuine love of books and stories while becoming confident and enthusiastic readers. We enjoy sharing stories together, discovering new authors and exploring a variety of different texts. Regular reading at home is also encouraged, as it plays a vital role in supporting children’s progress, confidence and enjoyment of reading.
Above all, we want Hazel Class to be a happy, welcoming and supportive environment where every child feels valued and excited to learn. We encourage children to become independent, resilient and confident learners, celebrating their achievements and supporting them to overcome challenges along the way.
We believe that working closely with families is an important part of helping children thrive. By building strong partnerships between home and school, we can support every child to make progress, develop confidence and enjoy their time at school.
We look forward to sharing many exciting learning experiences, celebrating successes and creating lots of special memories together in Hazel Class.
